The aim of the lecture will be to give a broad and general overview of the practice of international disputes and regulatory law framed from the perspective of an American lawyer practicing in Asia. Most international practitioners in Asia work in the fileds of corporate/transactional law or finance law. This class shall strive to convey different practice options for students seeking out international experience. The class will cover topics such as, (1) Cross-border litigation and forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), (2) Antitrust/Cartel law, (3) Corruption, (4) hot topics in international law, and (5) extraterritoriality. |
